Crash Performance - NCHRP 350 Test Level 3 - Redirective, Non-Gating

The QuadGuard LMC System is the ideal crash cushion designed for hazards from 910 mm to 2300 mm (36" to 7'6") located in high-frequency impact areas. It consists of self-restoring elastomeric cylinders surrounded by a framework of steel diaphragms and Quad-Beam™ fender panels.

During head-on impacts, the QuadGuard LMC telescopes rearward and compresses the elastomeric cylinders to absorb the energy of impact and bring the vehicle to a safe, controlled stop. When impacted from the side, the system safely redirects the errant vehicle back toward its original travel path without allowing gating. The QuadGuard LMC Syste is self-restoring after design impacts and requires little or no refurbishment.

Low lifecycle cost thanks to durable, reusable elastomeric cylinders. Even the nose is reusable after most design impacts! Compact design accomodates impacts by 800 to 2000 kg (1800 to 4500 lb) vehicles at speeds up to 100 km/h (62 mph). Quad-Beam panels provide 30% higher beam strength than thrie beam. Non-aggressive rebound reduces chance of motorist and secondary accidents. Refurbishment in less than one hour by a two-person crew. Quick refurbishment keeps work crews safer since they can get in and out quickly with minimal disruption to traffic.
			The reusable elastomeric cylinders are self-restoring after most impacts.
