Crash Performance - NCHRP 350 Test Levels 1, 2 and 3 - Redirective, Non-Gating

The QuadGuard System is an innovative new crash cushion that is designed for hazards ranging in width from 610 mm to 2300 mm (24" to 7'6"). It consists of energy-absorbing cartridges surrounded by a framework of steel diaphragms and Quad-Beam fender panels.

During head-on impacts, the system telescopes rearward crushing the cartridges to absorb the energy of the impact as it moves rearward. When impacted from the side, the system safely redirects the errant vehicle back toward its original travel path without allowing gating. Unlike gating crash cushions and end treatments, no clear zone is required behind the QuadGuard System.

Compact, modular design (one to twelve bays) accommodates speeds from 40 to 120 km/h (25 to 75 mph). Allows system to be configured to meet the specific design requirements of the site.

Reduced inventory requirements - due to interchangeability of parts within QuadGuard family.

Exclusive Quad-Beam panels provide 30% higher beam strength than thrie beam.

"Staged" standard cartridge design safely decelerates both light cars and heavier, high center-of-gravity vehicles. Energy absorption capacity increases as a vehicle travels from the front to the rear of the system during head-on impacts.

Easy installation thanks to new features like monorail base, self-supporting nose and simplified backups.

High 80% reusability after most design impacts. Typically only the cartridges and plastic nose are expended. The cartridges contain the debris, reducing refurbishment time.
